Optimize Your Quarry Design with Dynamic Volume Calculation
We’re excited to share a new feature that saves designers time and makes the workflow simpler and more efficient—volume calculation in the Dynamic Design plug-in.
To begin, we need at least one contour to construct the quarry. Roads are essential, so we add and connect them using the road direction change tool to create switchbacks at intersections. With just one click, roads align seamlessly, avoiding time-consuming manual adjustments.
Now, let’s activate the topographic surface and proceed directly to volume calculation. The new estimation tab runs calculations instantly, delivering results in seconds. The displayed values represent block model volumes, constrained by the project’s design and topography.
For better transparency, the estimated block model can be visualized or hidden with a single click, making project comparisons effortless. We test different configurations—removing roads, simplifying layouts, and rerunning estimations. Each project variation is stored for future reference.
To refine the analysis, we introduce stripping ratio calculations, adding more precision to project selection. Another advanced feature allows for the inclusion of quality indicators, enabling level-based distribution of results. For maximum transparency, all data can be exported to Excel for reporting in familiar formats.
