Q: Does the software do any kind of optimization related to the quantity or location of blastholes?

A: Yes, the number and location of blast holes is determined according to an optimization algorithm based on various technological parameters and the geological structure of the rock mass.

Q: How important is it for the data to be georeferenced? Photogrammetry is hard to georeference, so LIDAR I assume is a better source

A: Geographic referencing is important, especially in the case when you need to combine different data sources. When using photogrammetric data, the most successful way is to use a point cloud that is anchored by coordinates.

Q:  Does K-mine manage the point cloud directly and produce the mesh?

A: yes, during the demonstration we used a point cloud, that you can easily model the surface

Q: How you can determine the cubic capacity before and after blasting. How is the distribution of grade after blasting?

A: Before blasting, the volume is determined automatically during the creation of a drilling and blasting project. The best way to determine post-blast volumes is to survey the blasted rock mass (for example, using drones); the resulting data can also be processed in K-MINE to determine the actual volume.

Q: Does K-Mine have prediction and result simulation capabilities, i.e. throw, vibrations, fragmentation?

A: In K-MINE the D&B module allows you to simulate an explosion and determine the expansion zones of rock mass, safe zones, etc,.

Q: Does the model undertake charge calculations

A: Yes, of course, in K-MINE you can calculate and simulate charges of various designs for different types of explosives, get a complete package of reporting documentation that is necessary to charge the unit.

A: Quite a short question :-) Yes, drilling and blasting design in K-MINE can be done for ramps

Q: Is there a way to incorporate water content in bore-holes as a variable, before loading the charge?

A: Yes, the water level in the wells is taken into account when performing the charge calculation.

Q: How useful is the grain size analysis to re-optimization the blast parameters?

A: Analysis of particle size distribution allows you to adjust drilling and blasting operations in order to obtain the most suitable conditions for processing blasted rock mass, to avoid over-grinding (this worsens the environmental situation) and oversized (which will worsens transportation)

Q: Does it handle raw point cloud data?? and produce the mesh?

A: K-MINE uses the loading of a point cloud from popular formats, for example, LAS, XYZ, after loading a point cloud based on it, you can perform three-dimensional modeling: create a mesh, build a wireframe surface, etc.
